Imagine my surprise when I learned I was dead! Contacted by an astute reader, Jon Breen in California, I discovered that the editor of a reissued book of short stories, Fifty Best Mysteries, was Eleanor Sullivan, who died in 1991. The book’s cover, Mr. Breen told me, stated that Eleanor Sullivan also wrote the “classic mystery novel, Twice Dead.”
Just so you know: I am the author of Twice Dead, and I am happy to be continuing to write mysteries for your enjoyment for a long time, I hope. Also I have considerable respect for the editor with whom I share a name. The publisher of her book, Carroll & Graf, has graciously agreed to note this correction on their website.
